October 12th at 7:30 p.m. | The Cowboy Ain’t Dead Yet

In this award-winning musical comedy, R.J. Vandygriff explores the history, myth, and lifestyle of the cowboy. $10 per ticket, with all funds supporting the programs of the Layland Museum. Tickets are on sale now at the Layland Museum during regular hours and will be sold at the door.

October 1st-31st | Citizens at Last: The Woman Suffrage Movement in Texas

Organized by Humanities Texas, this free exhibit tells the story of Texas women who worked for voting rights 100 years ago – and made history when women won the right to vote in Texas 2 full years before the entire USA. Special programs for adults and children during this exhibit may be found in the Calendar of Events. Located at 201 N. Caddo St in downtown Cleburne, one block from the courthouse. The museum is near other points of interest in the downtown area, including restaurants, shopping and live entertainment.

Our Collection

The Layland Collection consists of three-dimensional objects, photographs and archival documents. The museum’s abundant photography collection covers over 100 years of Johnson county history. The cataloging and digitizing of the photo collection is currently ongoing.
